Gillson Beach: Weather
This 8-hour, four-evening class covers the basic progression of Eskimo rolling and deep-water rescues. Each class includes classroom instruction followed by exercises in the pool. Three evenings will focus on rolling while one focuses on rescues. A high instructor to student ratio (1:3) will ensure a steep learning curve.

ESKIMO ROLLING & RESCUE - details

Locations: Eskimo Rolling & Sea Kayak Rescue classes will take place at Lifetime Fitness in Skokie. IL. The facility is located about 1/4 mile west of the Old Orchard exit on I-94 (Edens Expressway).

What to Expect: Upon arrival (arrive 10 minutes prior to start), you will need to we will ask everyone to check-in with the front desk in the lobby of Lifetime Fitness- they will have a roster with your name on it. Once you have checked in at the front desk simply follow The Northwest Passage signs all the way up to the classrooms which are located upstairs and through the fitness center.
Classes will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the upstairs classroom located behind the exercise equipment (we will have signs up the first night to help direct you). We will use this time to discuss rescues and the Eskimo rolling progression as well as view videos to help conceptualize the process. At approximately 7:45 p.m. we will break to allow you to change clothes and get ready to get wet! Pool sessions will take place between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m.
